8 Great Marriage Secrets
Marriage Secret #1: Give compliments, affirmations, and personal words that show you care for your mate at least five times a day. Be creative and try to add something new to your attention to your mate each day.
Marriage Secret #2: Listen carefully to your mate. Do not interrupt when your mate is talking. Encourage your mate to tell you more about what they are saying by focusing on him/her intently and respectfully. Shut off the television while you are talking to one another.
Marriage Secret #3: Don't be critical of your mate. Attack problems, not people.
Marriage Secret #4: Give your mate your undivided attention for at least 15 minutes a day. Ask about their day, their interests and their problems. Your caring concern will pay rich relationship dividends.
Marriage Secret #5: When in doubt, talk about feelings. Feelings are relationship glue. They help build intimacy. Sharing your feelings helps your mate really understand you.
Marriage Secret #6: Make time each week for just the two of you. The date you make with one another should be a "sacred time" set aside to nurture your relationship. Your marriage is the core of your life. Commit to make it grow through activities together, fun, and shared laughter. Make your dates novel experiences.
Marriage Secret #7: Never show contempt for your mate. Respect is a prerequisite for a happy relationship. Name-calling, put-downs and sarcasm have no place in a successful marriage.
Marriage Secret #8: Make every effort to add happiness to your mate's life. If you do that it is very likely they will do they same for you and you will remain a happily married couple.
